MELBOURNE, Australia - Seorang remaja yang hanya dikenali sebagai Jess terpaksa melupakan hasrat untuk mengadakan majlis ulang tahun kelahirannya akibat menerima respons bahawa 180,000 orang akan hadir selepas dia membuat undangan di laman jaringan Facebook, lapor sebuah akhbar semalam.

FERNANDO TORRES has vowed to respect Liverpool's fuming fans by NOT celebrating if he scores against his old club on Sunday.

Chelsea's £50million record signing was unveiled by Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti today.

He faced questions about his decision to quit Anfield on transfer deadline day, which left angry supporters on Merseyside burning replica shirts bearing his name. n a twist of fate, Torres is set to make his Stamford Bridge bow against Liverpool this weekend.

The Spanish striker has scored on both his debuts in his career so far — at Atletico Madrid and for the Reds.

But he said: "First I have to play and then I have to score, but I have big respect for Liverpool fans so I don't think I will celebrate.

"I only have good things to say about Liverpool people. They made me feel really good there for 3½ fantastic seasons.

"I understand they will be angry and will not understand my decision. Maybe in a few days or weeks I will explain all the reasons.

"When I was an Atletico Madrid fan growing up I couldn't understand it when a big player left.

"I'm not asking them to understand me but I'm sure over time they will see what I did there.

"Football is like this. From one day to the other people can love you or hate you."

Asked if he considered pulling out of Sunday's match, Torres added: "Why? I'm a Chelsea player.

"I'm fit and if the manager wants me to play I will. I don't have a problem with that."

Torres revealed it was his desire to win trophies that was behind his decision to leave Liverpool.

He said: "Things had changed a lot there in the last year.

"I think they have great ambition and they are doing the right things to get back but it will take time. I didn't have that time."

Ancelotti claims he has not yet decided if Torres will start on Sunday.

The Italian said: "Fernando is in good condition and is fit. He has no problem and trained very well.

"He is available to play against Liverpool obviously. I don't know if he will start or maybe come on during the game.

"It is my decision and I will take the decision before 4pm on Sunday."

Former AC Milan manager Ancelotti admits he may have to shuffle his side to fit Torres into his line-up.

He added: "Fernando is not a winger, he is a striker and we have to find the right shape to put him and the other players to play together.

"I never had a problem to put together players with quality.

"We have to try to use the training sessions to improve our combination up front but I don't think this is a problem.

"Playing in a team with the other players the most important thing is to use his ability and quality for the team.

"These are our expectations, he is an unselfish player and doesn't have a problem to play for Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Torres has been called up by Spain to face Colombia in Madrid next Wednesday.

Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas, Liverpool keeper Pepe Reina and Manchester City's David Silva are the only other English-based players in the squad.

ROMAN ABRAMOVICH may have spent £50million on Fernando Torres - but there are three other Chelsea men who will pay a bigger price for his arrival tomo

There has been much debate about who in Carlo Ancelotti's squad will make way for the record buy as he makes his debut against ex-club Liverpool.

But I do not think just one player will be left out to accommodate Torres - I reckon there will be THREE.

The unfortunate Salomon Kalou, John Obi Mikel and Florent Malouda will form the first and most unwanted hat-trick of his Chelsea career.

It is tough on those three casualties, who have served the club with nothing other than distinction.

And they will not be the only ones to be affected by El Nino's inclusion.

Didier Drogba must get used to no longer being the centre-piece of the club's strike-force.

That is now bestowed upon Torres.

In times of yore, a new signing would have had a few matches on the bench before being blooded.

As much as I question the logic of disturbing a Chelsea team that have won their last three Premier League matches, scoring 10 and conceding twice, it seems unlikely Ancelotti would be allowed to blood Torres by letting him simmer on the bench.

Especially with Red Rom looking down from the stands expecting an immediate return on his investment.

And why wouldn't you play Torres?

He showed what a class act he was at Liverpool where, after joining from Atletico Madrid for more than £21m in July 2007, he netted 81 times in 142 appearances for the Merseysiders.

Despite being deprived of an out-and-out strike partner for much of his time at Anfield, he developed a great understanding with Steven Gerrard.

Torres looked at his best when he had somebody else alongside him, as he does for Spain when David Villa supplies his ammo and carries some of the burden.

But while Torres may look better in a 4-4-2, Chelsea play better in a 4-3-3 and he could also thrive in this.

Especially with Drogba on the left of him and Nicolas Anelka on the right.

Drog may want to play in the middle but his new team-mate has to start in that berth. And before the Ivorian starts one of his famous strops, it is not as though their starting positions are set in stone.

Torres may be a predator but he is also an unselfish player, inside and outside of the penalty box.

He will drop into the hole and drag his marker out wide. In fact, his crossing is as good as any winger's.

And when that happens, Drogba and Anelka can move into the space created and vacated by Torres.

They did this time and again with Liverpool and will do it with Chelsea.

But while the Kop may not have had the other strikers around him to fill the box during his sabbaticals into deep and wide areas, the Blues most certainly do, with Drogba and Anelka capable of cashing in from the advantages of what is potentially the Prem's most exciting three-pronged attack.

ALEX FERGUSON has set Manchester United's record-chasing squad a target of 10 more wins to win the title.

His current crop will complete the longest unbeaten run in club history if they avoid defeat for a 30th straight match at Wolves today.

But Fergie is looking beyond the trip to Molineux and has another 30 in mind - the number of points he wants from the last 14 games.

That would give them a total of 84 which the Old Trafford boss is convinced would be enough to nick the title back off Chelsea.

It will be a tall order considering eight of those games are away - and United have won only three times on their travels this season.

But Ferguson said: "If we can do that then we're in with a chance. Whether it's winning at home or away, it's about getting enough points to get over that line.

"I think 84 points would definitely win the title. I'm almost sure of that, so we've got another 30 points to find." Our stats show United have hit that mark in 11 of their previous 18 seasons - and average just over 30.5 in their final 14 games.

Fergie has always dismissed the notion of being the new 'Invincibles' by going through the league season unbeaten.

But he has highlighted the characteristics which he feels have helped them go unbeaten since Chelsea won at Old Trafford back in April.

Gary Neville may have hung up his boots this week, but Fergie feels some of the defender's qualities remain in the United dressing room.

He added: "The consistency we've shown in the past few months has been very good.

"That's the thing that gives them the extra yard or belief in situations we've found ourselves in in the last couple of weeks.

"They trust each other. They look around the dressing-room and there are some good pros there.

"They see professionals who have been round the course many many times and we're going to need that during the run-in."
